And to my knowledge, there's no way to increase decoration slot level. Completing this hunt will earn you the last farming slot in the Botanical Research Center. The Botanical research center is one of the best ways to make money in Monster Hunter World, since you can. Both slots and jewels can have levels – the slot level needs to be the same or higher than the jewel level. If you want to use a decoration on a weapon, you’ll need to upgrade it enough first. Monster Hunter World Iceborne Augment System Guide

Back in Monster Hunter World, a weapon could be augmented a set amount of times depending on its rarity. Each augment type was weighted the same. In Iceborne, each augment type has a different “weight” or cost assigned to them and each weapon’s socket number is based on rarity. Below you will find each Augment‘s, sockets, costs and limits.

Yellow Text means that it was added in the Rajang update.

Augment’s Socket Usage & Benefit

  • Attack
    • 1st Attack Augment takes 3 sockets
    • 2nd Attack Augment takes 2 sockets
    • 3rd Attack Augment takes 2 sockets
    • 4th Attack Augment takes 2 sockets
    • Each Attack Augment provides 5 true raw to the weapon
  • Affinity
    • Each Affinity Augment takes 2 sockets
    • 1st Affinity Augment provides 10% Affinity to weapon
    • 2nd Affinity Augment provides 5% Affinity to weapon
    • 3rd Affinity Augment provides 5% Affinity to weapon
    • 4th Affinity Augment provides 5% Affinity to weapon

    • 1st Defense Augment takes 1 socket and provides 15 extra defense along with a % chance to lessen damage taken

The Monster Shara Ishvalda rewards you with the most Master Rank points out of all the monsters in the game. However, it takes quite a bit of time to defeat. If you want to do this quest, make sure to equip the Partbreaker skill to finish faster!

Hunt Monsters In The Guiding Lands

When you hunt & defeat monsters in the Guiding Lands, you will get a surge of points that can increase your Master Rank levels fast. If you want to grind points for Master Rank, the Guiding Lands is the best place to do it.

Report To Handler After Defeating Each Monster

After successfully hunting a monster, head back to base and talk to Handler. She will give you the hunt rewards & you will automatically receive Hunter & Master Rank Points, among other end-of-quest rewards.

To unlock the Master Rank limit in Iceborne, you need to beat the expansion's final boss. This means going through the main story & getting to the very end of it.

You will break the Master Rank limit when you hit Master Rank 23, after you beat the game's final boss. Any hunt after this part of the game will continuously increase your Master Rank.
